3 Topics I Am Exploring In My Life Right Now
There are 3 topics I am actively thinking about and researching a lot these days:
#1: Discovering Your New Northstar
I am interested in A New Northstar as a topic because because I'm currently in the process of discovering my new professional Northstar after leaving my previous career of football coaching.
And my hope is that over the next 1-2 years, as I continue to learn more and more, I'll be able to to help others discover their professional north stars, assist people pivoting out of their current careers, and assign and align a new Northstar for my own professional life.
#2: Head Coach as CEO
I first got interested in the idea of a new leadership model in sports that high level coaches should be running their team as CEO's run corporate businesses as I researched how the best coaches, such as Bill Belichick, Nick Saban, and Steve Kerr, are running their hyper-successful sports organizations.
Since my research began, I have learned a lot about:
the importance of developing a strategy for hiring the right people,
delegating important responsibilities, and
creating effective structural change across key functions of an organization.
#3: How Long it Takes to Build Culture
I also have an interest in learning more about How long it takes to typically build a culture, and even more specifically how long it takes a losing organization to build a winning culture. While each situation is different, I can already see similarities in the teams and organizations I've researched thus far.
It's one of those fun rabbit holes I find myself exploring and researching in my free time simply because I enjoy it.
It would be great to connect with other people who are interested in these same topics—so if any of the above resonates, feel free to reach out!
